Description
A farmer hanged himself after allegedly killing three of his family members at Hallada Hosahalli village, in Turuvekere taluk, on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Bore Gowda (58), his mother Lakshmamma (75), daughters Swaroopa (21) and Sapna (18), a PUC student.
Except the farmer, all the three were found gagged. He might have smothered them to death and hanged the bodies from the ceiling, before hanging himself. His mentally imbalanced wife, Rathnamma, who was kept in a room outside, was spared.
Gowda had 8-9 acres of land but was unable to cultivate anything. He sold land to make ends meet. However, he became bankrupt and with no more land to sell, took the extreme step, sources said.
